Proud to be an Airstreamer!
After searching for nearly a year for our Airstream, I am very excited to say we are officially Airstreamers! We are the proud new owners of a 1968 Tradewind DBL. Our first plans are to try and find the pleated type curtains from that era. We want to keep it as close to original as we possible can! Been a member here since June, but it feels so much better now. Look forward to the input! All the best!

Congratulations! Just to let you know there is a very active airstream group here in GA. During the summer we can be found at the Top of Georgia Airstream Park just north of Helen, GA. Top of Georgia Airstream Park During the Fall and Winter we hold camp outs all around the state. We would love to meet you and see your new pride and joy!

Sounds like a find, and perhaps another pilot to join the group...
Drapes are easy to find if checkbook "full", harder if you want to spend very little money...
Source for majority of replacement "original" style curtains is JPA Drapes, formerly JP Ambruso.. Now in Pennsylvania, still have ALL of the patterns, templates and measurements for Airstreams and Argosy's.. Look at website: Drapes For Airstream and Argosy Trailers They come fitted, marked and ready to install, with sliders or hooks or other mounting hardware.. We've had ours in since 2006, and they hold up very well, and double fabric acts to insulate and block a lot of light...

When you are looking for draperies that approximate the originals, there are a number of possible vendors including: - Airstream isteslf through one of its dealers or authorized service centers. The fabric selection will likely reflect those available in current model Airstreams. I haven't heard this source mentioned with great frequency in recent months, but it was mentioned with regularity a year ago.
- J. P. A. Drapes, Inc., as has already been noted has a long history providing draperies for Airstream and Argosy RVs.
- Fowler RV Interiors, Symsonia, KY, another source that has provided draperies and other interior elements for Airstreams and Argosys for more than two decades.
- P and S Trailer Service, Helena, OH, another source that has provided quality Airstream and Argosy service for a number of decades. Interior refurbishing is a relatively recent addition to their line of services, but they do have a reputation for top-notch service.
- Silver Threads RV Interiors, a shop owned by a fellow Forums member, they have been providing respected service for several years.
I am sure that there are several other potential vendors that I may be overlooking. Those mentioned above tend to come up in Airstream restoration discussion circles on a regular basis. My experience has been with Fowler RV Interiors and P and S Trailer Service . . . and I am a very well satisfied customer of both vendors.
Good luck with your Tradewind!
Kevin

Thanks everyone for all the warm welcomes and valuable information. We will try and get some pics up within the next few days, if we can figure it out. Right now our top priorities are replacing a couple of window gaskets, eventually we will replace them all. The other thing is getting our curtains manufactured and installed. We sent off for some fabric samples to J.P.A Drapes,Inc. yesterday, look forward to getting the Drapes in. So glad to be here!

Welcome! We are also new Airstreamers in Georgia. We got our 1969 27' Overlander in January and have been working hard to get it ready for the season. I hope to attend the buddy rally in Helen this year with some friends and possibly become members at Top of Georgia. We are only about an hour from Helen.

Congrats and welcome to the community. You'll love the work that JPA does. We replaced ours last year and get more compliments of folks coming into the Airstream. They certainty fit the era for the Unit and quality of work.
Do the major things a little at a time and before you know it years will pass, memories will be made and you'll have all the project all done.
Best of Luck and most of all, have fun!

Hi Alan,
We met you and Shannon at Falluminum 2012, we were looking for our Airstream at that time and have just recently become proud owners of a 1968 Tradewind. Hope we can make it this Fall, we had a lot of fun! All the best!
