Prices have gone up!

A couple of months ago we had a really strong buyer for our Foretravel, so we were carefully checking the Classifieds. The deal fell through, so we're back to where we were. I haven't been checking the Classifieds much, as we're not in the market. We're looking at 2000-2010 28' and up, with the real focus on the early 2000's 30' and longer. When we were actually looking for something, we saw several in the upper 20's/lower 30's that looked promising. When I looked just now, though, the lowest asking price is $34.000 for a 28'.

Even trailers from the late 90's are almost that high.

What happened?

It is weird — I sold my ‘86 Sovereign in May and I had two full price offers within a day of casually mentioning I was selling it to my truck mechanic — I hadn’t even drafted an ad for it yet.
I obviously could have asked more for it but I was not paying attention to what the RV market was doing.

In the past two weeks, I have had two unsolicited offers for my new (used) Safari. One was overly generous and my wife and I briefly entertained moving up in size but then realized we would probably have to wait until next Spring to buy new.

I think, in two years, when the reality of 12 monthly payments for two weeks of actual use sets in with a lot of the new buyers, the situation may well reverse...
