Phoenix AZ Campground question

I hope we have some members familiar with the Phoenix AZ area. I am planning on using my Airstream as a hotel room during a business trip to Phoenix, the weekend of April 26/27.
The event is at the Phoenix Civic Plaza, 111 North 3rd Street
So i am looking for a nice campground in a 10 mile radius from there. It needs to have full hook-ups, and be safe and pleasant. Pricing is irrelevant to me for this trip.
Any pointers from locals or from anyone familiar with this area, would be greatly appreciated.
I looked in Woodall's directory, but it's hard to tell what these places really look like....... nothing beats eyewitness reports!
Thanks,

Uwe,

It might be hard to find a location within 10 miles of downtown Phoenix. There are lots of RV parks in the outlying areas of Tempe and Mesa. Most of those, though, are for semi-perminant (Snowbird) residents who spend the winters there. Most of those folks are gone by the end of April and you may be able to rent a vacant site for a few days.

I am familiar with Venture Out in East Mesa, my wifes folks have a place there. V. O. is one of the few places I know of that provide temporary hook-ups, but I don't know if they are full hook-ups. They have a lot of recreational facilities, but it is probably 30 miles to downtown Phoenix. The freways are close, but the rush hour traffic is a bear.

Sorry I cant be of more help.

Les,
Don't be sorry. Any information is good information.
There is a place on Woodall's called " Covered Wagon " RV park, off Exit 205 on I-17.
Have you heard about this one? They're supposed to be 1-15 minuts from Civic Plaza.
Anyways, i do appreciate your reply!
