Before we left - we racked our brains trying to think of a name - PS saw the thread on "inanimate" things A/S - too funny! Some people are just far to sensitive
Anyway - gymes always called her a "unit" and it sort of stuck a bit. The fact that in 1969 the Moon landing was the biggest event in both Peter's and My life - that we remember from back then - A/S GT6921 has in the past 7 days been refered to as "Moon Unit" on several occasions.
Still not sure though, and trying to tie in the decor theme together which we have not decided on yet...we needed a sign
We were in Tenessee - Hill Billy country - and Peter decides to pull off at the worst possible truck stop in the whole of the USA - and there was no way I was going to even venture into their rest room!!!! (Peter said after, good thing you didn't, there were probably peep holes
)
At this stop I saw our new Tow Vehicle - it only had a red primer paint layer - just beckoning a fancy new paint job - and as I visioned a jet black with florecent stars with a big moon on the hood with sparkling chrome - something caught my eye - I looked down and what did I find.......
"Moon Beam" as I named her - a Bobble Head - to funny, too freaky and definately a sign.
I am so into space things, and her "hair doo" is exactly how mine was in 1969. She was brushed off and placed on the dash for the remainder of the journey home!
Still not sure about "Moon Unit" - it is growing on us - but we are now sticking with the "big event" as our theme, and decor - so if any of you can point me into any direction to find out as much information - pictures etc of that great event (landing and walking on the moon) It would really be appreciated.
My parents even gave me the Life Magazine issue which I kept all these years (35 to be exact) must dig it up out of our memories trunk and see what shape it is in?
