Off to bring home a new baby (I hope)

Well after soemtime of checking out everyone ad's and poking at used AS...I think we have found the love of our life. She is 4 hours North of us and we are going to check her out! I woke up this morning from a nightmare "I'm sorry, someone else showed up before you and they had cash" Akkkkkk....
In my dream I was crying with my fist full of cash and saying...I told you I was coming and I told you I was 4 hours away...

Well, it's day light now and my husband took the day off and he's getting cash this morning and I sure hope she checks out!
We have printed off an inspection check list. Pack a bag of tool and a lunch! I think we are set.
If it all works out and the powers that be let adopt her...she's coming home with us.
Wish us luck!
Meredith and family!

PS...WBCCI my check is almost in the mail! I want red numbers!

Well She is an 1965 Tradewind! and she is wonderful! I'm so excited! The adoption process went pretty good but we needed a better brake system to tow her home so will have to stay with her soon to be ex-parents before we take her home. I bought her from a women who only regestered on here to sell her. Look in the vintage section to see pictures of her and I will post more as soon as she is in my yard! The womens name is Tradewindgal or girl.
I need to learn how to do window gaskets and replace one window. The women told me it was flat glass and cheap and easy to replace. I'm hoping to have you all help me out.
I guess one of my next steps is to change my profile here! And then get a better TV and get my big red numbers to put on! I'll sending my WBCCI $$ soon!
Maybe by the end of summer we can tend out first rally!
Meredith

Thank goodness it isn't a real baby. They require constant care, feeding, burping, diapers, tantrums, junior high, high school, and then they end up wanting to go to college. For six years......!! An Airstream is way, way, way cheaper than a real baby.

Another question from a new vintasge AS owner. I have a 2006 f 150 with the standard modern tow connection for the lights. Assuming they didn't change the plug on my "new" sovereign is there such a thing as an adapterto go from the AS to the F 150 plug? Thanks for the info. The best thing about the Airstream i the community that came with it. You guys are great. R. Hoe

Yes there is. It will convert pin to blade assuming that's what you have. Also! Although your F150 may have a 7 pin connection, it's not. You will need a patch cable that routes the 4 pole functions to the 7 pin round. The adaptor is available from etrailer...give them a call and they will ensure that you get the correct one, it's kinda hard to find on their website without the stock number.

Meredith: That's a very nice-looking Tradewind!

Re: getting back to your pictures easily: on the 2nd menu on any AIRForums page (the one with white words on a blue background) there's a "Quick Links" item, and one of the options that drops down is "Your Profile." When you go to your profile page, there's a "Gallery" tab that will take you to your photo gallery.

Is this the round connector with a protective flap that has 7 electrical connections (either for flat or round pins) or is it the flat 4-pin connector that only offers lights? For any Airstream, you'll want to use the trailer brakes, so if you have only the flat 4-pin you'll want to install a 7-pin connector on your truck and get a brake controller. If you already have the 7-pin connector on the truck, it's just an issue of getting the trailer wires configured for the right pin-out if they haven't already been modernized.
