Noticing Airstreams everywhere

I saw them earlier of course but did not notice them. Now I do, several weeks after I got mine. There is one just a few miles from my place, a 25' I am not sure if it is a small park or a private residence. Today just saw another 25' at a construction site. You do seem them occasionally if you pay attention. They have become an integral part of the culture.

I saw two at Laguna Seca Raceway yesterday. One 34-foot triple-axle Excella parked in the pits near the Skip Barber school, and a 1960s Overlander parked in the campground above Turn 5.

The reports of Airstream invisibility have been greatly exagerrated.

Airstream in TV AD

There is an Airstream bieng used in an ad for the Chevrolet Silverado. The spot shows the Airstream being pulled by the Silverado, but you have to look quick.

I saw a 28' yesterday ... didn't notice what the towing vehicle was. Lots of 5th wheels being pulled by 3/4 to 1 ton vehicles with 8-ft beds and extended cabs.

noticing airstreams everywhere

Just saw one in my neighborhood the other day. Tried to catch up from behind and as it turned looked like a Sovereign. Also the movie "Simone" has several scenes with a movie lot with Airstreams. The May/June edition of AARP has an as from Mastercard that uses an Airstream as well.

Hey, I was at the Chevy dealer the other day and found that in the Suburban literature, they show it pulling and Airstream.

Yes, they are real close to you for sale except when you are looking for one. Then you will end up driving 900 miles to get one. Once you get one, they are back to being for sale within 50 miles.

An part of the background too. After a while, you just don't notice them...... We'd "bump" into them everyday if we were not careful.

Femuse, do you folks decide to "get away for the weekend" by moving into a different A/S?

We never get away. We do not work enough to be able to afford to go on vacation. The rare times we work, it's always on the weekend. We sometimes envy "normal" people. Not, often though.

3 A/S, now that's true dedication.

I hope to own 2 someday, one of the smaller ones and a 34' Limited -- each from the opposite end of the length spectrum.

Looks like we made a full circle: Ipso_facto started this thread. Today he PMed me about a local campground. I happened to drive by it, and I remembered having seen (since we moved here in 1996) an old Airstream in that campground. A few years ago, it was moved next door, near an industrial looking building.
So, I took its picture, in a moving car, from the highway above.

Airstreams afloat

Not only do you see AS on the road, sometimes they are seen in unusual places. Last Sunday we took a boat ride on Old Hickory Lake here in Tennessee and saw three. They weren't actually on the water but were parked nearby. Two were in backyards and one in a campground. One of them had been parked so long, that a small tree had grown up inside the area where the propane tanks belong. It appeared to be a 70's 23 footer. I plan to investigate that one from land and possible buy it, if it is for sale and do a fix up on it for resale. Our 71' Safari is now road ready and I need a new project.
