Not on Airstream.com
Has anybody else ever noticed that on Airstream.com, they have a community section - and these humble forums are not listed there? There are links to WBCCI, Aitstream Life, and a few other things but not Air Forums. I think that we should petition Airstream to include AirForums as a link on their website being as this is the largest online Airstream community in the world!
I used the "contact us" form to submit a request to add the link. I think we should have several other people also put in requests to add the link. Who wants to join me on this little campaign?

It shouldn't need to be a campaign, should it? I would hope that if they aren't aware of airforums (how couldn't they be?) that one visit to the site would clearly show the resource that it is and how it ought to be shared with anyone visiting the airstream site.

It isn't REALLY a campaign per se - it is a show of support for AirForums to have a link on Airstream.com. It is a tongue in cheek grass roots effort to get the link on the site. It is a light hearted effort.... But still a serious one.

Where are they now...
They have only visited us once that was not incognito, The Town Hall Meeting.
They solicited comments and suggestions, took those under consideration, locked the thread and disappeared.
I don't think they like us....

Sad really, it's a disservice to customers and potential customers.
We have a huge, supportive and WONDERFUL community here at AIRForums, we spend our dough on Airstreams and I don't know about you, but two of my friends have purchased new Airstreams after going to a forums rally (in tents). That's two new Airstreams in my tiny town, directly related to AIR.
Thanks for the suggestion to contact them - good idea

Here's the email I sent on Oct. 18...
"Like your new web site...However, I don't see a link to www.airforums.com in the 'community' section - did I miss it!
Airforums.com has got to be the largest supporter of all things AIRSTREAM on the planet...
I mentioned the new 'look' of your site yesterday...
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f224...com-83746.html
Regards,"

Just a thought (or 2 or 3)
If I owned Airstream, there are certainly some threads on these forums that I wouldn't want prospective customers reading. I'm not saying that I wouldn't want to read them myself if I was a prospective buyer, but it is not common business practice to direct customers to places where they know they are going to be exposed to some pretty negative opinions.
I also think it is naive to think that they don't follow what is going on here. I think its highly likely that they do. However if they made it known that they are aware of what is going on here, there are going to be members who expect them to address what is said here in front of all of us. While we might like that, once again if you think about it, that is not a position a business would want to be put in.
I feel all of us would like to continue to feel free to say whatever we think, and not to be thought of as a branch of the company. Therefor I don't think seeking to be put on the company website is a good idea. I am pretty sure they won't think it is a good idea either, and if pressed, I bet they come up with a reason not to.

We, the people on this form, are not politically correct enough for the WBCCI form.
As best I recolect there was a political flap in the WBCCI hierarchy (excuse my spelling). The opinions expressed on this form were allowed to air and many opinions were shared and discussed. This was when the lights went out at the WBCCI form and no opinions on the flap were allowed. Then the site was shut down. I know it has been ressercted but have not attempted to rejoin. When I was in it, I had to be a WBCCI member. They are just a little too controling for me. I have to wear a name tag for my job, I will not wear one when I play, and no way will I wear that beanie.

They are definitely aware of these forums. If you go to Airstream, Inc :: Home, there is a rotating set of five photographs on the main page showing how great life with an Airstream can be. Take a look at the sticker in the window above the man's head in this image from the series:

I don't think Airstream will want to have a formal link with Air Forums because we're a bit to free with our opinions for them. Overall we are a good advert for the Airstream product but totally outside of their control, so they'll not want to be seen endorsing us.

You have to wear a beanie? Is there a secret handshake? The way I see AS is, in 1971 they made something I am interested in. Job well done.

Airstream
If Airstream Marketing was smarter than they are they would be advertising on this site....
I have the feeling if the Chinese owned Airstream, they would be.

If you think about it, they are getting advertising on here, they're just not having to pay for it.

Those people are our age, Mike. That's just how good being next to an Airstream makes you look.

I have to wonder what percentage of new trailer owners join us here on the forums after their purchase?

In our travels (non-rallies) I can say that the vast majority (at least 80%) of the a/s's we've encountered have not heard of airforums....which amazes me, but to each his/her own!

I would guess they join around the same time they have to start fixing things...
