I think you hit the nail on the head Toad. They have no control here.
On facebook they can remove any posts or replies they want,
since its their Facebook account. They can control the dialogue any way they like.
On Airstream's web site, the Facebook link is found under Community/Airstream On-line.
This is the "Community" Airstream marketing wants people to see.
I think they have a 5 year old making posts for them there. Not many people
are replying. I see topics like:
o Who's getting ready to carve their pumpkin Airstream!??!
o Happy Columbus Day! What discovery have you and your Airstream made today?
o If not sliver, what color would your Airstream be? hmm..
o Name 3 items you MUST have with you in your Airstream at all times…
o Which Kampgrounds of America, Inc. where you and your Airstream at last?
and on and on and on, its nauseating.
I'll never understand what goes through the minds of some marketing firms.
Like the Nissan commercial showing, in a serious light, a pickup truck going 140mph
to catch a jumbo jet's broken landing gear. Its OK to lie and stretch the truth, and
make virtual communities, all in pursuit of the all mighty buck.
Come on Airstream, control your customers with your product, not your marketing
department. Ahhh, I feel so much better. Sorry for boring you all.
