It can get pretty warm in an airstream without A/C, so you may find that you need power. Consider becoming a volunteer camp host. You get a free site in return for a few hours of work.

Wow-glad that this thread can be informative to others too
Thanks for those great suggestions about visiting RV park and also volunteering(my friend had recommended that too-she has done campground hosting-sounds like something I could enjoy

I’m so new’bie this is my first post.

If
I’m in the wrong spot, I’m sure some kind members will direct me to a better thread to begin on.
So I thought I’d ask my 1st question.
What is the recommendation on the water pump?
Leave it on all day while parked?
Turn it off till next use?
Does pressure on the system affect anything?
Well I guess that’s more than one😉

Being this is my first post I’m not even sure what happens next, where to look, but here I go.

I leave mine on all the time, except when I'm traveling. Don't want a faucet to somehow open up while I'm bumping down the road and flood the trailer. I'd also turn it off while in storage, but ours is never in storage.

Thanks

It is nice to see that my first reply to my question was , quick and easily understood.
It seems logical and that is a good place to start.
It’s summer and I’m in Iowa so just use the shower, no need to heat water just to freshen up.
I’ll have questions I’m sure when the temps drop around freezing.
Again thanks, as I’m not just learning about AS but navigation around the site.

Always off when away from the trailer or when towing.

Sir thanks

Yes I’m just as new to these forums as I am my BaseCamp, newer.
So I’m starting with a premise of courtesy by hitting back a thanks.
BTW I was through Bend just two weeks ago after starting out of Seattle.
Was there in early 80’s and wow has it changed.
Headed east to Denver via the left turn at Reno/Sparks and took Hwy 50, yep the “Loneliest Road in America,” I didn’t feel it was.
Met three AS parties one had a flat the others jumped in and got them on the road.
Been staying off The IS Hwy, so far a good maiden voyage.
Thanks again.
