New Carport for Airstream

We are building a new carport for our Airstream and two vehicles for sun and hail protection. We seem to have quite a bit of both in Central Texas.

I am installing a 50 amp breaker, water and plumbing to our septic tank so we can keep the AS hooked up while we are here. We live in a historical tourist town and have a lot of friends visit frequently and would love to say in an Airstream.

The structure is steel beamed and will have a stained cedar board finish. On the Airstream side I have provide a pull through for easy parking. We also intend to use it as a party barn and the airstream will function as the bar.

Hi

Indeed, very nice !!!

A couple of thoughts:

1) Is 50A enough for *all* the loads in the barn? ( Lighting, vent fans, fridge, freezer, workshop, air compressor ......)

2) Indoor plumbing? ( as in a *very* simple area with a toilet and sink )

3) How tall are the doors? ( there are vehicles that get up to the 13' sort of range)

Yes, this could go on and on. It always will when spending somebody else's money

Great ideas you have brought up. Actually we have a large finished out barn that we keep all our equipment ( and beer) in as well as a full size workshop. This is going to be a carport only. I am installing a fuse box with plenty of power for the AS, lights, Big Ass Fan and such. Plumbing brought in will be for hose connections and septic line for the AS.

Will the tank chemicals mess with the septic system itself? I thought RV chemicals should not be put in a leech field or septic system?

Just curious.

No reason to use tank chemicals — most of us don’t. If you do, Happy Camper and Pure Power are harmless to septic systems.

Looks like a well thought out structure. The way the weather has been in Central Texas lately, a nice covered storage sure gives you peace of mind. Looks great.

I’m suffering from a severe case of jealousy. May have to buy a farm so I have a place to build that Air-port.

This might be the best looking "car port" I've ever seen. Even better once you get the AS in and party going around it. I m sure your visiting friends will love the accommodations.
