My Dream RV Would Be.....

RELIABLE!



I really love RVing, travel, seeing the country. I've had several RVs, and they all suffered from "Low Bidder Syndrome." Like, "Where can we finding the absolute cheapest XYZ part to put in here?" As an old engineer, I am generally horrified by the nasty sub-systems assembled into a finished RV.


I always imagine some enterprising company will design a product that really is tough and reliable, built with the best subsystems, not the cheapest. So far, I don't really know of any that meet that goal.



Last weekend's trip to SoCal concluded with a faucet failure and an air-conditioning problem. Thankfully, there was a mobile RV guy who came out to us on Friday afternoon to fix the plumbing. It was HORRIBLY hard to fix because no one ever considered that someone may have to replace the faucet. Short of that man's infinite patience and skill, we would have had to go home early.



Maybe that RV is out there and I just don't know about it?
