Thank you everyone for your input. We don’t really have any specific destination when turning west after seeing the start of Mississippi River in Minnesota. We were considering going toward Oregon then south thru California then heading back to Mississippi thru New Mexico Ect.

You will cross highway US-2 near the Canadian Border.
US 2 over to Glacier NP is an unusual ride, at least for me it was, riding through the vast open spaces through North Dakota and Montana, then seeing the herds of buffalo as I approached the snow capped mountains in the park. The route through Glacier, the Going to the Sun Road over into Idaho is spectacular.
US 101 from Washington down into California is one of the most beautiful drives I've been on. You would not have to worry about snow along this route.

Thank you everyone for the great ideas. It will be two seniors adults with two senior labradors. We all love to travel around in our interstate. We have never left them inside our interstate while we site see so we always look for areas they are welcome. Keep the ideas coming please along with the best places to park. We will put it all down on paper this month.

We're camping out in a field behind a barn at the moment. The interaction between our Lab and their goat is "interesting" to say the least. Neither one quite knows what to make of the other. Both are *very* interested in checking things out .....

You will find lots of Points of Interest and Historic Site pullouts where you and your dogs can get put to stretch your legs and read about what happened in that area in the 1800’s.
