LS Option

New to this forum -- We are interested in a new 19' Safari. Went to visit the dealer but they won't have any until sometime mid-June. Picked up a brochure, and now have a question that we didn't think to ask the dealer.

The first page for all Safari's lists an LS option package, but it's not clear where that is available on the 19'. I really want the Fantastic Fan & black tank rinsing system -- throw in an electric hitch jack & 13.5K BTU A/C with heat pump and that makes the LS pkg one attractive set of options.

Is the LS pkg avail on the 19', and if so, what's its cost?

Thanks.

I think you will just have to call your dealer on this.

It is avail on the Bambi.

Also, given the poor cross breeze of the Bambi and other small window units like the Safari, I would stongly suggest you also consider getting the second fantastic fan for the rear vent. If done while under construction, it's in the $285 range...if done after, it goes upwards of $400. One is good, but when I have the two on in the Safari, it does a great job...better than one could ever do!

If you had a Classic or a CCD, I might not say it since they have huge window opening...but the Safari line has big windows, but only about 1/4 of it actually opens and the rear window, is only emergancy...not a normal functioning window like that of the CCD, so the second FF is really a bonus in my book.

As mentioned, check specific availability thru A/S or the dealer. The list price for the LS package on my 2003 was ~$4000. As I recall it included:

- black water flush*
- fantastic fan*
- spare tire*
- electric jack*
- Corian counters
- Improved faucets
- screen door guard
- heat pump*
- electronic thermostat*
- improved water pump
- cast tail lights
- LS badges

The asterisked items have had value to us. Probably not worth $4,000, but still very nice to have.

In 2003 the Safari had Corian only with the LS package. I do not know the build date of my trailer, but it is probably an early one.

Thanks to all for the advice.

dmac: Your astericks are exactly the options that I want, thus the interest in the LS pkg.

Eric: Thanks for the suggestion on the second FF. I've been in campers before with a FF, and I love how much air they move. I'll go with the two. How long a tether will I need to keep my butt inside when the inside cyclone from 2 FFs operating hits 2 Mach?

Well, both on high speed, it can get quite a breeze...

Our '03 Bambi didn't have any of the fans installed and it got kind of interesting inside when it was warm out, even with a slight wind. I don't think anyone that goes with dual fans will ever be disapponted.

I liked that as when we go camping we boondock a bit and without electricty hookups, those FFs will get a workout I am sure.

I would have been neat to have the Corian countertops, but as it is the coach is already about 5400lbs dry (with the added LS upgrade and a few other off the menu upgrades).
