Looking for letters

I've been looking for some 3 dimensional letters for our Airstream trailer. Today after visiting a local sign shop, we really need some guidance. This shop quoted to us a price of about $4.50 per letter. We wanted to use letters similar to Airstream to spell.....Twin Falls, Idaho. There are 15 letters including the comma which is $67.50 plus tax. We had thot of placing the letters on the rear and curb side of the Airstream and the rear of our Ford truck. Now that is $202.50 plus tax.. Anyone have a sign shop connection?? A company named Gemini makes plastic 3-d letters in many colors, with one color very close to Airstream blue..... Any hints or suggestions appreciated. Vinly cut signs look terrible next to the Airstream letters. Frank

Letters

Frank ,that is a sticky problem!! Just a suggestion: I recently bought brass letters from HD for my male box post attached with screws. Thought I saw plastic ones too. Could you spray them AS blue?? Tom

Hi Frank,

I have a small sign business here in S. Dak. mainly producing your "favorites", the vinyl lettering. I'll do a little research through my resource contacts and see if I can find a more affordable alternative, although Gemini is the leader of the industry.

I need to know what height letter you have in mind to start researching. I do like Tom's suggestion of possibly customizing exisiting letters with Airstream blue. Please be paitent with me, it is I and only I who handle every last thing here...it may take a few days to get info gathered. If you come across more in the meantime, give me a holler, we'll get you set up yet.

Hello again,

My research has turned up little besides it appears your local shop is charging a fair price, a darn good price if you ask me, given the prices I've seen.

One alternative I've found is 1 3/16" brass letters available from Lee Valley Tools http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.a...category=1,250.

They also have wood letters. The brass letters do not match the Airstream font-style, however they look sharp to me and the price is right. Keep me posted on what you find out there and let me know if I there's anything else I can help with.

Good luck.

Lightbulb Question

CARMEN,
I was just wonderin if you can do the blue vinyl with the names on it? I have, like alot of others, one on each side of my A/S with the word SOVEREIGN in the blue background., I need to replace..

If you need pictures ?? Let me know and, I'll take some the next trip I make to Va Beach where my unit is.
I think this could be a fantastic service, plus...
ciao

Yes, please send a photo, so I may take a look at the product. I hate making promises I can't keep. From there, I'll let you know if I can produce a new decal or try to find a good source that can.

Thanks for the opportunity...

Talking Not to worry

Carmen,
Thanks for your reply. You're not under any promises..If it doesn't work out, that's not a problem..I thank you for wanting to try. It'll be a few weeks before I get back to Va. Let you know when I have the pictures.
Again, thanks.

ciao
