Question looking for info

My wife and I are looking for an airstream to use as a rural home while setting up an undeveloped property. I have read somewhere that since the original company was bought the quality of the trailers has dropped. Is this true and if so when did the quality drop start? Thanks

i was told buy a few people that older is better....i was in a 2002 bamby recently and it was just as cheap-o looking inside as the rest of them (other trailer brands) .......the bad thing about older air streams....air stream spacific parts cost alot....but not all there parts are air stream spacific. i was not impressed with the interior it was nice looking but it doesn't look like it would last a long time.....i wounder if the new air streams will be around like the old ones the exterior and frame and stuff will probable hold up but the interior is just like the others not so good.........i think your just paying for the name........just like lots of things.

I think you might also consider that if you buy a decent older one it will retain its value for resale ( depending on how fair a price you pay of course), better than most comparable trailers. You may even find that after you are done with it as a temporary home it still will have appeal as a recreational vehicle.
