Leak sealing help needed in Michigan

Hi,
I have been reading the threads on sealing leaks and feel pretty overwhelmed. I have a "new" 1978 Avion that has a few leaks and wonder if an experienced handler of these vintage aluminum trailers would be better at finding and sealing the leaks than me, a complete ignoramus about such things. Anyone know of a good mobile service in northern Michigan? The local Airstream service and sales dealer said I would forever be chasing leaks on an older aluminum trailer...very discouraging. Please help..I need to be living in this thing so I can work up here seasonally. Thanks.

Google up Sealtech and see if they have a dealer locator. It is a device that pressurizes your trailer so a good spraying with soapy water reveals the leaks. I get it done about every other year. Much easier than chasing them on your own.

Pony girl, The above advice on a pressure test is good advice. I live in Michigan and used Woodland RV in Gd. Rapids for my test. The new Airstream dealer in Traverse City should be able to do the same pressure test. They then can seal the leaks. Sounds like the dealer wanted to sell you a new trailer and discourage you from fixing your leaks. BTW mine is a 1964 Globe Trotter and had several leaks. Good Luck
