Labor Day

Getting ready to go on what will probably be one of our last excursions of the year over Labor Day weekend. Hate to see the camping season coming to a close.
This was our first year in our '77 Argosy, and we really enjoyed the time we were able to spend in it.
Had a few minor bugs to work out on it, but the last few times out, we were able to sit back and enjoy it.
Next year the carpets get replaced, as does the origional counter top. I know it won't be origional, but the wife is opting for a butcher block counter top, and I do tend to agree with her, the orange one has got to go!!!!!!
We met several of you folks at Moraine View this summer, and that is where we are going back to Labor Day. Is a really nice place, dull with nothing to do (the main reason we like it) and really kapt up.
Anyway, the reason I am writing this is to say the group we met there was really nice, and all seemed proud of the rigs they have, and after spending time in ours, I see why. Good luck to you all, and good camping....Ken

Just getting restarted

Labor day in Texas is the start of our best Airstream use season; good camping weather usually runs from about Labor Day to easrly January. We have 2 WBCCI fall rallies coming up, one in October and one in November.

The summer is fairly inactive Over the last 2 months, we have state parked three times and had one WBCCI mini-rally for a total of 10 nights in the trailer.

August 31, we take off on a 10-day trip. We'll take 2 1/2 days to get to Eureka Springs where I will have 3 days of playing banjo. It has always been great weather in Eureka over Labor Day for the 8 or 10 times we have been there. On Sunday, 9/5, we will go over to Oklahoma City where we will sit out the Labor Day traffic on the 6th (my birthday) and visit the memorial, etc.. Then, we will drive down to North Texas Airstream Community (NTAC) on 9/7 for a free night on friend's hookups and come on to Austin the next morning.

January 10 will be the mid-winter IBT rally near Conroe, TX. Our unit is doing some of the hosting for that.
