Keeping clean and dry

Well we've had our 25' Safari since Monday and its been snowing, raining and cold. We only turned on one gas tank to see how long it lasted and with running a portable heater occassionally it lasted 5 days. I love it, the bed is comfy and it is so homey inside (yes, I've been living in the driveway! ) We've ordered the Reese Dual Cam and I've been putting skid cloth in all the cabinets.

I haven't taken off the plastic on the carpeting and now I am a bit worried with the floor choice. We always used removeable indoor/ outdoor carpeting before so we could tromp right in, the dog too. Anyone have some tips on how to help keep the carpet clean? Do you use runners, or issue "booties" LOL? Does the carpeting hold up and clean up well?

Just another input

I've used this with great results~ I keep a trash can by the door and, when I enter..off comes the shoes which end up in the trash can..Also, I have a "Wallys special" door mat to step on..Scatter rugs in front of the kitchen sink and, down the hallway. last but not least, one in the bathroom as well.
This should help for awhile..
BTW, I have no pets inside my unit`There, you're on your own..

Happy trails~!

ciao

Wally's special doormat?

Good ideas, thanks. But what is a Wally's special doormat?

Thumbs up Congrats Carol!

We have a "Wally Special" doormat too... one of those 'fake' turf things that remove MOST of the dirt. It lives below the step. We have an "Airstream" doormat that lives just inside the door. We also have a dog and kids. We vacuum a lot and shampoo the carpet about twice a summer.

The bottom line is that your trailer was built to use. Use it. When the carpet gets dirty, clean it. It doesn't take long as there's not a lot of it to clean. Have a ball using the trailer. If you're worried about getting it dirty, you're not going to enjoy it! Everything inside cleans up just fine!
