Inverter or Not

I have a 27' 1970 Overlander Land Yacht. When I disconnect from shore power I have no battery power for lights, fridge, etc. No blown fuses and battery is new and tests good and fully charged. I still have the original inverter and it buzzes like normal when powered up. Any ideas?

You actually mean converter, I believe. Do you have a battery disconnect switch somewhere that is disengaged?

Yea sorry. I did mean converter. I do have a battery disconnect switch but it is engaged. When I switch it on the converter buzzes. When I switch it off it stops buzzing. This one has me baffled.

Measure the voltage between the negative battery terminal and body ground. It should be zero. If you see 12 volts you have an open ground.
Some trailers of that age had a large fuse in the ground lead. Regardless, if there is voltage on that reading follow the negative lead to the point where it grounds to the body. If by chance there is a large cartridge fuse in a ceramic holder check the rivets that hold it together as well as the fuse

If you have 12v when your verter is coning then it must be working. Ergo, the problem is somewhere between the verter and the battery.
