Exclamation Invasion of the ANTS!!

We often camp in a national forest camp ground. Every time we go we are invaded with little red ants. They only appear when we are at the camp ground, never at home, so we have concluded we do not have a nest within the trailer. Has anyone else encountered this dilema? If so what do you do to eliminate these little pests while camping?

try lavender oil. put on a cotton ball and rub around sinks, back of counters, windows, edges of doors etc. I read this works but have not tried it myself. If possible I might spray around outside of trailer also. I read they dont like the odor. goodluck, at worst youll have to smell lavenders for a few days.

We learned a long time ago not to try and beat them - but to feed them. Bait them with an Oreo cookie - located somewhere close to where they make their home - doesn't take them long to find it and they abandon their explorations of your RV. Keep the cookie replenished on a daily basis - they're happy - you're happy.

I saw this tip somewhere and haven't tried it myself, but it's cheap and easy to do. Sprinkle powdered Comet cleanser around every point of the trailer that touches the ground. Supposedly, the little critters won't crawl thru it to get into the trailer.
