Interesting read.

Help to remind us that Airstream Quality is still better than many SOBs.

The article smells "bought and paid for" if you ask me. Low maintenance costs, placement of plywood that ensures it won't rot and "each aluminum rivet is put on the frame by hand " "which ensures leak-proof seals" was especially amusing to me to read as I,ve spent a great deal of time repairing my rotted floor and replacing crappy skylights because of how Airstream designed and built my trailer. The bit about the "driver's cabin" being well laid out was weird as Airstream hasn't made a motor home in years. I still love my Airstream but the article is a bit too sugary for me. - Brad

I would check the classified ads to see if the author has a trailer for sale. I'm not too sure about the claims for the money you save by not having to do a lot of maintenance - too many maintenance-related threads on these forums to buy that claim. But again, I suspect Airstream owners tend to be more willing/likely to do that maintenance, which may be why so many are still on the road.
Still - it's nice to read something so upbeat about Airstreams! Thank you for the read.

I suspect this author is living his dream. I know owners of SOBs who are living their nightmares, particularly those who are full timers.
AIRSTREAMS are great but they're not perfect, but neither were any of the five homes I've owned. If you're looking for perfect trailer don't buy an RV, buy a HOA restricted townhouse.

We are in our second Airstream, a 25ft Flying Cloud FB, it has had issues but Airstream has backed its warranty. We shopped a lot of Trailers before investing in the Airstream. Quality of the build was high on our list as was road durability as we are fulltime. Finally, the iconic reputation and image was extremely influential. It was an emotional buying decision justified by rational thought.
We've had our disappointments but overall we love our Flying Cloud. Kudos to the author for laying out his beliefs.
