Reply to: sale-bsxpa-1371227449@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
FOR SALE:
1975 model Argosy Airstream 26' Camper. this is a project camper. My parents bought it complete and began a restoration project on it. The exterior was white but has obviously been stripped down and most of the panels buffed and polished. I towed this camper home for them about 200 miles one way when they bought it. It towed just fine, with no problems. They "camped" in it some as they worked on it, the a/c worked, fridge worked, sink and toilet etc. Camper is in good mechanical shape, just a project that needs to be finished. please respond by email if interested, i check it often. I will be glad to take more/specific pictures if anyone is interested. has dent in right front and some small ripple/dent in left front corner. Roof does not leak and floor is in good shape.
Has five new boxes of Armstrong Sherlock tongue and groove flooring with insulation (see pic). All the cushions have been reupholstered with Waverly fabric and enough extra to make matching curtains, Has new belt line molding for exterior, new window fuzzies and plastic window guides (still in boxes never installed). Has three new pieces of paneling to finish interior. All the framing for awning is there but do not have the awning itself. The water pump was stored in the house and the tanks were drained and antifreeze added. tires are in good shape. Dad said air conditioner works but the fridge needs to be charged up. please let me know if you have more questions, i'll ask dad. thanks for looking

Craigslist San Diego, 50s and 70s
Craigslist San Diego has two Airstreams, Must Sell under "collectables".
One is a '57 or '58 22 foot Flying Cloud asking a "few grand".
One is a 70s 30+ footer Excella I think. Asking over 5k...
Both need lots of work. The 50s rig has alot of aluminum interior still in place and has a midship toilet/shower, skin is fairly straight, original hubcaps still on. Floor is shot. All glass still there.
Call them, they are contractors clearing the lot, gotta move them off fast. I hope they are not going to scrap as they mentioned they could get at least $1,500 just in junking them...
Good luck.

how much do suppose replacing these panels would be? actually, it's probably more a question of whether the frame is straight...

It looks to be a 50's 21 foot flying cloud with the window placement. A steal at $1,000 even if it needs everything.

If the shop was already built out on the land we bought.....
Even if it cost me two weeks of PO'd better half it would be worth it....
I just want to see the inside if it trully has been closed up for "decades" who knows what it might look like.
(part needed - one original hub cap with the + pattern in the center)

I'd say it's a '47 to 49 22' Liner. It has both ends rounded. Beyond that I don't know them well enough to identify it more closely from the window arrangement. That means it would be a pipe frame model.
I will say that it appears to have no tongue, since we are looking at the door side (curb side), so the tongue would sticking out to the right, but there is a white wall where it should be. I hope I am wrong on that note.
In any case $1500 seems to be a good price no matter the condition, at least since what we can see of the shell looks pretty good. Chances are any un-restored trailer of this age will need frame work, especially a pipe frame model, so the tongue issue should not be a deal breaker. Having any of the original interior would be a nice bonus.
