I did it, but didn't expect it back

OK, so when I had my SOBs if i saw a A/S I went and looked at it and dream about having one. If i saw one on the HWY usually pulled up beside to look at it. When at the parks I generally made my way over to see it and talk to the owners.
Now that I have one and the government is giving some freedoms back, we have been out to some parks, and folks are doing the same thing to me. Oh I like it and don't mind showing off my silver beauty. I just thought I was the only one that did this. LOL Had a guy pull up beside me on the HWy and just me a thumbs up.

Yeah i love my airstream!!

I even give thumbs up to any one towing AS in California. My wife is so embarrassed at me. Won't be long before she does the same.

We used to have a pop-up before we bought our 2018 22 Sport and every time we saw an AS we would dream about having one. One day some people backed in beside us with a vintage 1963 Bambi. She has become one of my best friends and all because of her AS. Best friend maker ever!!!

First, Congratulations!!! Wishing you much joy in your future adventures. An Airstream has always been our dream. We have been waiting and saving for many years and were finally able to place our order late last year. Our AS was supposed to come off the line at the end of the week that the shutdown started. Our dealer has told us that it should be completed by the end of this month. 30' Intl Serenity RB Twin. We can not wait for our first adventures.

Currently driving from Clearwater Florida back to Bandera Texas. No trailer, as purchased a new tow vehicle in Florida. Passing over the Atchafalaya Info Center and Rest Stop (where we have stayed several times) between Baton Rouge and Lafayette, spotted an AS settling in for the night... wish it was me!

One time, a large group of motorcyclists, most of them on Harleys, caught up with me on the interstate. As each one passed me, they would look over and either nod approvingly or give me the "thumbs up." I was thrilled!

I’m naturally introverted but it’s kinda funny how easy it is to strike up a conversation with another Airstreamer when we run into one.

I’m not some kinda RV snob either, I had a couple SOB’s in the past but I always wanted an Airstream and I figure most of you feel the same way.

Life’s too short to not have at least some of your dreams come true.

There's a certain cachet to an Airstream. Mine is a 1987, so not shiney new. My wife and I were on our way to an event in Toronto and needed a quick potty break. We stopped at a rest stop and ran into the building. When we came out, there was a small crowd of people who had disembarked from a tour bus around my Airstream taking photos of it. As we got back into the truck to continue to Toronto my wife remarked that had I told her that this would happen she never would have believed me.

Last year while towing our Airstream to the Keys, a semi pulled up alongside us and the passenger rolled down the window. I immediately think something is wrong and start looking behind us and in our mirrors. Hubs rolls down the window and the passenger yells "How much do you want for it?!?" Without hesitating, he yells back "It's not for sale!!!" (God, I love that man!) The driver and the passenger each gave us a thumbs up and kept on going.

Similar story wirh ours as well. On an outing with ours on our way to Yosemite stopped at a flying j to take a break and grab snacks and when we hopped back in the pickup there was a swarm of gawkers shootin' pics and admiring. Have had several other brands before but this had never happened. Gotta admit it was quite flattering!

Very cool, I just took my first trip out last week for shakedown. I’m a single gal driving with windows down and my 2 little terriers. As I get into the highway I see a woman pull up beside me, I thought on no.. something is open or dragging...but instead..she gave me the biggest thumbs up!😑😑😑

Airstream cravings

True story from the maiden voyage in my 2011 31" Classic. This is my very first trip and I'm setup for the night in my first RV park with my new silver bullet.

Around 9 PM, I exit the door with the puppy for one last pee. I come around the front and I'm greeted by a lady standing in front, just staring at my rig from a few feet away admiring my camper.
The convo went like this (I promise):

Me: hello, how are you?
Lady: I'm great, just admiring your beautiful camper
Me: Oh, thanks, I just picked it up today, I love it
(I start to walk off with the puppy, she turns and says to me...)
Lady: If you wake up in the morning and there is lipstick on the window - it's me!
Me: Well, ok then! Have a good night.

I thought to myself, I'm not sure if it's the Airstream, or I've just been hit on. But who cares, years later I'm still in love with my Silver Bullet!

camped last Memorial Weekend at WayPoint Ventura RV Resort, and sat inside dining area (front) and noticed that people walked by, always looked at our small Bambi , some even stopped to talk amongst themselves... that was more than I saw since I bought Bambi last August. I felt good about the Bambi... still planning on buying 19' soon.

Get nice comments all the time. Even parked in our own driveway during our California lockdown.
