How do I establish value

I would like to find the approximate value of my 2010 Airstream International, 19 foot, Bambi, Serenity International, with low mileage in excellent condition in San Diego, CA. Photos can be available.

Get a professional appraisal, money well spent.......for agreed value insurance and a starting point for resale. $250 well spent IMHO.

We used James Polk n Associates.

Hi

Will banks in California still write a loan on your trailer? There is some magic point in the 6 to 10 year range (depending on state) that they stop writing loans. For good or bad reasons, that narrows the number of people who can buy a given trailer. Fewer buyers means the sell price takes a hit.

Thanks Alan for the info. My wife wants to keep it but I had a hip replacement and it didn't go as well as expected. We haven't had it out for about two years and it has new tires. I changed the weak leg on the table for a strong wood one that slides into a holder on the bottom of the table. I also made a long narrow box that slides under the bed and a storage box for the closet and they work well. Bill Beatty

FWIW - I never worried about whether or not a buyer could get financing at my price point for my 2005 19' Int'l Bambi which I sold in 2015 for 77.63% of what I originally paid for it. I had a lot of phone calls and local interest, most of those conversations ending with low bids. I politely declined all of those offers and continued to wait for the right one; and 2.5 months later, I got an all cash offer from my buyer, $500 less than my full asking price.

I agree on all points.

I think Polk is in Ventura or thereabouts, but still close enough SoCal-ish for you in SD.

Opinions of forum members aren't much help, since condition, options & extras, etc. can vary widely between individual trailers.

Also get Polk to update your appraisal every few years or so for insurance purposes.

Good Luck!

Tom
