how big is your seat?

once again...congrats to porky and jcanavera on your new babies....i was brought about thinking about the future( not that i am looking forward to it).... but to the most basic of things...the daily regimen....as we are all aging...no matter what your age is.... a sad fact of reality is we are all getting stiff(some more so then others..pun intended)... in the past i have written threads about the size of seats being useful only to children and anorexics...but to get serious for once...i think we need to voice the need for a new commode design... i realize that one can purchase a spacer.... but is that really enough? i look forward to a serious dialogue as well as the brunt of your humor...lord knows...some of you have had to put up with me....

Should this thread possibly be combined with the "droopy rear end" thread?

Sorry, couldn't resist!

I'm scratching my head over this one!

HA! Norby, you are not the only one out there with these concerns. My wife said that the old Galaxy super duper blah blah thetfold had to go. I measured, and found the Bravura (who NAMES these things!) had a longer, higher seat. Do a toilet search, and there are china and other bowls with, ah, larger accomodations.

Happy sitting.
Marc

PS, the "dumping air" thread comes to mind as well!
ARRGGH sorry, I couldn't resist!

Bravura

I have installed the Bravura in the 1983 Excella.

Huge difference! it is like a normal size elongated bowl.
Plenty of "tuck" room if you get my meaning.

You can actually get a cheaper brand that sits higher and has a bigger bowl. The drawback is that you may have to get adapter to fit to flange.

They sell them on EBAY all the time for around 79 dollars.

The Bravura by Thetford, fits right to your flange and typically cost close to 200 dollars but well worth the price. You can buy the elevator adaptor for a few more dollars to raise it nice and high for you leaners, squaters should have no problem with the standard setup
