Highest WBCCI Number?

Thinking about joining WBCCI, and was on their website the other day. Noticed that they say they have around 10,000 members. I also noticed some pictures with numbers in the high teen thousands on the site. Just curious, if they give new members the next new number or re use older numbers.

They reuse old numbers. I joined last year and my # was 1590.

You can specify any previous number as long as it's not currently in use. I had old faded numbers on mine and asked for and received the original owners numbers since they were no longer members.

The highest number currently listed in the 2003 WBCCI Directory is 32083.

For many years they would not re-issue a number. This is why the numbers got to be so high. Now they will re-assign a number as long as it has been out of use for more than a year, I think.

Also, I know someone who requested (and received) 1-1965 for their '65 Caravel including the "dash".

While in the Air Force, I was stationed at Lowry and made many a trip up to Estes Park. Love to go back now with "Karma" !

I don't know if more than 999 units are made in a year. Even so, not all owners join WBCCI.
