Great Book:Silver Palaces
A great book recently came out called Silver Palaces by Doug Keister. Who was also the co-author of Ready to Roll.
It is very nice history of silver streamlined trailers from the Bowlus Road Chief to modern Airstreams. Also included are other brands of aluminum orientation and where they came from.
I own the books Airstream History of the Landyaght, Ready to Roll, and I have read Mobile America. I have to say that Silver Palaces beats them all with great reading and wonderful pictures laid out in a good product.
I got mine at amazon.com last week. Better add it to your library!

Yep, I bought an autographed copy through Tin Can Tourists. (But I think they are out of copies already.) Definitely worth adding to your collection.
BTW, we'll have a large excerpt from the first chapter ("Silver Genesis") in the next issue of Airstream Life. It should be in the mail by Oct 1.

Buy The Book....
I just received my copy of Silver Palaces today, and it is one of the most amazing books ever! This is a must have for every person on this forum, and it's only 17 bucks from Amazon.
The photographs are stunning. The author should be real proud of this book.

I Ditto that! Just got mine last Friday through Amazon.
Thanks, Safari Tim for posting about it. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

Me too
Hi there, especialy Safari tim;
Your advice in buying this book is really good;
I've ordered mine from FRANCE, and it is arrived this week end; WHAT a great book and pictures are great. Airstream story is well explained and the trailers are in pictures with great cars. Lot of informations and web links.
I've seen there was a guy ( Mr Vince Martinico ) who is a silver trailer collector and i wondered how he does to park all these little jewels when , for me , it's difficult to find one great place for mine....
May be we meet him on the forum, without knowing his collection ???
So , about the books, can you advice me about others one with the quality of the " silver palace " one.
Thank you by advance.
Bruno.

Bruno,
The only other trailer book I can recommend is Ready to Roll. It's by the same author as Silver Palaces.
Ready to Roll has a lot of nice photos of all kinds of other brands.
It's a pretty good book, but not on par with Silver Palaces in my opinion.

Hi again;
I've gotten yesterday, the " ready to roll " book and it's a great one too; smaller in size but greater in informations about the beginning of the campgrounds , according to the roads developments and leisure time .
I prefer pictures on "silver palaces" for their size but "ready to roll " has more genuine pictures .
Both books are their place in my aistream now and are really part of the deco, always ready to be read, and not far from the Airstreamlife magazine (thank you Rich ).
Happy reading !
Bruno.
