Smile Great Airstream Dealer

We have had a very positive interaction with Airstream of Tampa, Florida. Even though we cancelled our purchase, they acted with great professionalism and courtesy. thank you.

That's good news regarding how the cancellation was treated. What happened - why did you have to cancel? I hope you still plan to join the Airstream family.

As many of us have learned with our dealers, there is the pre-sale treatment of prospective owners and the treatment that new owners receive starting the day after purchase.

I think thatís Airstream One, I believe they are the largest airstream dealer in the country. We went to the Tampa RV show recently and enjoyed our interactions with them.

That's good to hear. They just built a new Airstream facility along I-4. It's good to hear they're trying, because before.....well they were less than stellar.
I may have to stop in and check it out.

We ordered / purchased our Globetrotter from Tampa One RV back in 2018 after attending the Tampa RV show. I also read about some sales related issues with them back at that time. The main concern I had read from others was they wanted you to sign and accept delivery prior to doing the pre-delivery inspection, (PDI). Our salesman was reluctant to let us do our PDI until we signed to accept delivery and made payment. This was a deal killer for me. I just forwarded my concerns to the Sales Manager. He called me to discuss. We were both professional in our discussions and we reached an agreement to what I wanted to do.

When we arrived to pick up the Airstream all went smoothly as we had agreed ahead of time on the expectations from each side. We spent about 5 hours checking and re-checking all systems before we accepted delivery and made our payments. The process went very well and I have no issues with them based on my experience. The process went exactly how I felt it should go.

Our Globetrotter only had factory options and no special items added by the dealer ahead of pick up. One thing I learned from their perspective is that some buyers will have the dealer add non-factory options prior to picking up their Airstream. The purchaser shows up to pick it up and then change their mind and want to back out of the sale. That puts the dealership in a bad position of having an Airstream customized for one particular person and may make it harder to sell to someone else. In my opinion, I would not recommend having any special work done by the dealership, or anyone, until after I had performed my PDI and made sure the RV is in acceptable condition. It takes away any leverage you would otherwise have in the closing process.

I would not hesitate to purchase from Tampa RV again. However, for service I only go to Jackson Center and I would do that no matter who the dealer was, especially during the warranty period.
