Good place to stay first night after leaving disney world.

Looking for some options for first night on the road after we leave Disney and head back Home to NJ. This will be my first airstream Tow, so looking for something relatively close to 95 if possible.

We'd definitely go a bit out of our way if it's an amazing destination.

Actually,

If you can get a reservation at Ft Clinch Fl., beach preferred but the hammock is also good. You may see a nuclear sub come or go.

It is a bit pricey but you can back right up to the beach. Just head out on I4 to I95

Beverly Beach

Another nice spot is Jetty Park, east from Oralndo on the Beachline (State Road 528).

Not direct beachfront sites , but a nice beach-side and port-side park with some shade trees. Near Cape Canaveral launch area and cruise ships.

I like Blythe Island Regional Park in Brunswick, Ga. Close to I 95 and Jekyll Island. Accommodates large rigs. Bicycling and beaching on Jekyll is great! There is a campground right on Jekyll, but it's cramped and crowded.

try Anastasia State Park near St Augustine, FL (150 miles) or Skidaway Island State Park at Savanah, GA (300 miles)

Good place to stay first night after leaving disney world.

We have stayed many times at Beverly Beach Rv Camptown... You stay right on the beach if you get ocean front. $95 a night is a snudge pricey though. I can also second Anastasia State Park. Nice park, nice beach, but you're not right on the beach...

if you just want to overnight try Inland Harbor RV Park Darien, Georgia it is clean and cheap and is almost all pull thru spots. it is just off i95 and next door to mcdonalds so use that as a landmark.

I generally stay at truck stops, fueling up as I come in, then in the morning grabbing some good coffee and getting on the road. My thinking is these probably have high security due to the millions of dollars on the lot.

So, using this website, and simply following directions, it will show all the fuel stops as miles from the start. I will record several in my calendar and then have options along the way.

http://www.findfuelstops.com/?gclid=...FQpgswodjU6amQ

In the truck stops I back in between trucks as I have a rear bed, so this takes me away from the running diesels if it is hot or cold outside and they need a/c or heat.

If you want a hook up, see what others are suggesting. Is this a two day or three day pull? Or longer? Williamsburg, Virginia, is always a nice stop, tourist wise, but i cannot give a recommendation on a stopping place. In St Augustine, Anastasia is nice as I have stayed there in the past, but is only a short pull from Orlando, leaving two longer days to get home.

Welcome to Florida State Parks

Rest areas are also OK, but, security may not be as good as the big truck stops. Walmarts….. good security, usually, but can be noisy.

Just my opinion...

Don't give up on the FL parks. there are often cancellations. We just got into Jetty Park on Fri and Sat night last weekend and saw the SpaceX Falcon 9 / Dragon ISS resupply launch on a last minute basis. Give them a call instead of looking online. And while Ft Clinch here in Fernandina is popular, just south of Amelia Island are the Talbot Islands and Little Talbot IS has a large campground.

If you do make it into Jetty Park, the favorite activities are Fishing and Bicycling. Nice Beach too! Not to mention the easy hop over to the KSC. Its also fun to watch the big cruise ships coming and going into the Port (Canaveral). I know you said you are leaving in early Nov, but if you make it out earlier, there is an Air Force Atlas 5 launch from the KSC (easily viewable from Jetty Park) on Oct 29th. Its always possible it gets delayed a few days or weeks due to weather or other concerns.
