Forum's Garage Sale Feature???
I am curious if you all would like me to build a garage sale area where we could post all that little stuff that someone else might be looking for. There could be categories for trailers, etc, but the focus would be on exchanging all the little things that become "hard-to-find" with older trailers. I would set the expiration for the ads to 2 years so they would stay up for a long time. That way we would have a collection of Airstream stuff organized for those who need hard to find parts.
What do you think?

I think one area for buy, sell, trade, lookin' for, and available for free/shipping, all combined, would be great, Andy.

The idea sounds great! It seems I'm always looking for something...and can't find it. Yes, by all means, do it!

Absolutely! I'm thinking of buying a early 50's model, and know I'd be appreciative of that feature!

Just curious...
Andy ~
How would this be different than the current "Airstream Marketplace" we have today?
There is a "Airstream Parts Forum" and a "For Sale & Wanted Forum" already in place...

Shari,
GREAT IDEA!!! Your right, it might just be a matter of education. Maybe I can build a form that would simply format new threads in a standardized format and post them into the current forum? That sure would be easier to maintain (one less database to manage).
Thanks for you feedback everyone. If you think of any other cool ideas you might have, please email them to me. I'll start a wish list. Together we are creating a real special place for all of us Airstream enthusiasts!!!!

However you want to do it, I think its a great idea. We could include photos to help clarify what one is selling or looking for, although if you were looking for something, might be kinda hard to photograph it. Any upgrades to this site just continue to improve on an almost perfect thing.
FF
P.S.: I hate to mention this so I'll just whisper. Andy, the link at the bottom of your signature doesn't work. Shhhhhh.... I would like to see your rig's transformation and am wondering whenever do you find the time to do anything other than website upgrades/maintenance?

I have some grand plans for my bambi. But I have been saving up to do it right. New Zolatone coming soon. Then it will be time to put her back together.
Last year at this time I moved back to Dallas and started a new job. She stayed in Colorado until last month. But it will be much easier to restore her here because I am not 45 minutes away from civilization as I was in Colorado. This site has provided me with more than just the opportunity to learn a ton about Airstreams, but also the opportunity to learn about online community building which has been wondefully rewarding!
FYI - The link works for me???

Great idea - how will you keep the "stuff available" posts current?
