Question Forum Feedback... What do you think of this forum site?

I just wanted to find out from everyone what they thought about our community? Are you a member of any other forum sites? How does our site stack up?

Andy

About seven months ago we finally found the Airstream that we were looking for. A 1971 23' Safari. Right after that I found this Forum. It has been a wonderful resource for information on restoration, parts, repairs and everything else that one would care to know about an Airstream. Without the Forum, I would be lost.
I have visited other sites and they don't compare in any way.
Thanks for such an informative site.
Long live AirstreamForums.com,

Andy,

Let congratulate you on a job well done. What has this forum allowed me to do or experience?

First, I met a person living in my own community who shares much the same interest I do. He has an airstream and obviously, so do I. We've communicated through the forum, and now we've even had coffee together.

Second, because of a post late last year, I've learned about cork flooring. I've done additional research, and now I'm collecting samples from different suppliers. Hopefully in the near future, I'll have a nice new cork floor in my AS.

Third, from Andy in California, I've learned all about the ballancing of the running gear in my trailer. I have over 15,000 miles on a two year old trailer and my running gear has not been ballanced. I just hope I haven't done too much damage to the trailer before I'm able to have the wheels ballanced. They will certainly be ballanced before our next trip.

Fourth, I've communicated with a very prolific member in Florida and as a result of my communication with him, will probably change the rear end ratio on my truck to a 4:10.

Let me count the ways.... well I guess I have.

Thanks Andy

Thumbs up Awesome!

Andy,

You know that Airstream Central is basicly dead and that's because you have continually listened to the members and provided us with the tools needed.

So hat's off to you!!!

What I love about this forum is the experience of all of the different members. I recently was thinking of replacing my refrig shelving, but Shari/Insideout told me about powder coating them. I saved a couple of hundred bucks.

Thanks-John

Thumbs up Well said

Andy
I can only parphrase what my friend, Mark said.~!
With these additions.
Not only have I met/made new friends, both close by and, from far away.(The distance seems not to be an issues)
I've learned many things as well..thanks to you, Andy#2 and, all the many fine folks on this forum~!
My search for the 'dream machine' started over 6 yrs ago and, trust me, there wasn't much to be had then.
If I may make a suggestion..
Have you given any thoughts to taking all the material gathered here on this forum and, publishing a book?~!!
Think of it..What with all the info, pictures and tips gathered from all the owners plus experts such as Andy, of InLandRV..I think you could make a case for such a book~!
I know I'd treasure one, just on Airstream.
Just a thought.

Thanks for making it possible to meet so many nice people~
ciao

You got me Fred...

I am having a tough day at work and needed this! But really, the reason for the post is to keep listening and trying to find out who does it better. I know we are not perfect yet!

A book? It would take a heck of a lot of editing, who's got the time?

Keep the feedback and suggestions coming!

Andy,
I can't believe you had to ask! When I get a chance I check the new posts in the morning after I get up; I check the posts when I get ready to leave work some of the time and I check posts when I get home after work. I sometimes have to plead with my kids for just a few minutes to check what is happening on the forum and then I check during TV commercials. I just can't get enough knowledge and learn more as each day goes by thanks to the members of this forum. I've talked with so many members, purchased some parts through the mail from some of them and hope that one day I'll meet them on a rally or forum sanctioned get together. I'm hooked on my Airstream and this forum, what else can I say! Thanks gang.

Andy,

I am finding this site most useful. We are in the final throws of deciding on buying a 25C. I have received very useful feedback from many members of this group.

I belong to the Yahoo group run by "Hunter" and am finding that the discussion threads are more around Internet access and Phones on the road with little to do about Airstreams.

I find I spend more time on this forum now.

Thanks for the good work

Malcolm

forums in the...

...morning, evening, and dinner-time!

I haven't had much time lately to write-in, however both Pete and I reference this site frequently for anything Airstream, it is the premier site in my lil' ole opinion. Hey Andy--thanks, a million Airstream miles over.

This site is an addiction. Love, love, love it. (Which is why it is my home page) My only suggestion for improvement would be to make it moble friendly ... perhaps a mobile version for us avid smart phone users so our old eyes don't have to work so hard.

Thumbs up

When I first started looking for an Aistream I was a bit lost to say the least. In Kansas City the closest dealers were St Louis, Chicago and Denver. I went to Chicago and St Louis and they only had new units (way out of my price range) and the salesmen were nice but couldn't answer my questions I had about filform, insulation, towing etc. It was "they are the best trailer, easy to tow, and hold their value etc. I had one dealer swear I could toe a 23 ft international with my Acura! It was all about the sale. Then I found Air! What a learning experiance and tons of great people! Not only did I find a very lightly used 2006 19ft CCD on the classifieds but also my inspector, hitch set up, maintaince, where to camp, and new slip covers (had pea green yuk) and some great people. Without this site I was totally lost and now each day I learn something new, laugh and have been able to help where I can.

I had a VW TDI and I thought it was the best forum but now it's a close second! Keep up the good work and I will be on here several times a day! Were all a bit addicted!

Thanks again.
