For you art lovers in New Mexico-

There will be a show of Z. Z. Wei's work at the Manitou Gallery July 22 to August 2. Why mention this on this forum and who is Z.Z. Wei, you ask? Well.......1) Mr. Wei is an Airstream owner 2) a fantastic artist 3) occasionally creates paintings that include Airstreams..... Here is a link to some of his paintings at a gallery in Washington -http://www.rovzargallery.com/main/wei1.htmla
I never would have known about him if it werent for MW64OVERLANDER, who happens to have poster of one of his paintings in his trailer and a photo of it is in his photo gallery. Enjoy!

Gorgeous...It has me wondering if we someday find a 40s truck towing a Bambi resting on the side of a quiet farm road whether we might find Wei somewhere nearby taking a twirl with his paintbrush. Maybe he's an airstreamer, too...

Airstream Art

I hope you don't mind if I segue here and offer a link to another Airstream artist, Joan Landis. The cover of the current Airstream Life (Summer 2005) features one of her paintings. I really love her work!

I stopped at Manitou Gallery the other day and they will be hanging Wei's work mid-week in prep for Friday's (7/22) opening.

Should be a good show.

Just got back from a bike ride into town (Santa Fe). Stopped by the Manitou Gallery and had a wonderful conversation with their director, Katherine Erickson, who described ZZ and his work. They just finished hanging the show. With any luck, Wei will be at the opening Friday night. His work is outstanding and, seemingly, well collected.

Here are a couple of pics of the show that Katherine so graciously allowed me to capture (sorry for the angle of the pictures, I only had my 70 - 300mm zoom along today...).

Hope to see you fellow Airstreamers there on Friday...

Correction: It is Kathrine Erickson, Director. I misspelled her name - sorry!

Wow!! If it looks that good in the photos, it must be fantastic in person. Wish I could see it.
