First one... Really?!?

I came across a 1950 Silver Streak Clipper model 18 with a serial number 02001 that's for sale. I'll be the first to admit that I know very little about anything regarding the brand let alone the history but I've been told that 1950 was their second year of production and the 02 in the serial number reflect this. This leaves the 001 which indicates it was the very first one off the line. It may also be possible that this year would have been the first year of production for the model 18 making this one the first one ever.

My question.... is this at all possible? Could it be true?

I don't think the number 2 is year two, we have a 51 that's 023XX in serial number. Still cool either way. What's the condition on it? If you don't want to jump on it, private message me, a buddy in town is in love with ours and wants one badly, we're a few hours north of you.

Is it feasible that yours being a '51 model that it may have been manufactured in December of '50 thus receiving a 02 numeration on the serial number? Just a shot in the dark here.

This unit is all original. It needs work of course but everything does work and has no damage structurally nor any body damage to the exterior. It's all cosmetic.

I have no idea what something like this would be worth if in fact it is as collectible as the current owner believes. They are asking in excess of $10K. I need to verify its rarity to justify the cost.
