Electrical Question

I have my 2018 Airsteam 25ft FB International Signature plugged into shore power. Since I have a disconnect switch on my 2 house batteries and the internal disconnect switch ativated and the Inverter turned off, will by house batteries stay charged?

Yes. I just went through this same scenario and contrary to what the dealer told me, the batteries will charge from the converter in either use OR store mode if plugged into shore power. I’m getting 13.3 volts at the battery terminals when in store mode. When I unplug from shore power I get 12.9. So that confirms that the converter is sending voltage to the batteries when plugged in, regardless of the disconnect switch position.

I think it depends on how you wired your disconnect switch and also how the trailer is wired. You'll need to test it with a multimeter to know for sure. Don't depend on the answers you get from others to hold true for your rig. My experience has been different from many of the posts that I see here and at other sites.

Newer trailers have digital converters that have a safety feature that is supposed to prevent overcharge. But I agree that you should test your own unit to see for yourself. That’s what I did to confirm. A good multimeter is a must have. Even though i am leaving mine plugged in, I will still periodically check battery voltage and water level (mine are wet cell).
