That's odd. I think you and I both sent ours back on the same day. They said some would be repaired and some would be replaced. Maybe yours was in process and they decided they're going to replace it instead?

Good luck either way!

Sent mine on May 5 and got the e-mail saying it was received this morning, May 18. Hopefully it'll be back soon but I'm in FL so not likely to have any use for it any time soon beyond running the fan at night for white noise.

Sooo, I just decided to call. Mine showed a problem and was removed from the normal clean and retrofit process for further breakdown. I may get mine back or a new one. Wonder how close I was to burning the joint down?

ETA: June 5th or so.

Ya never know....maybe they sent you mine before fixing it. Have you turned them both on? And let the smoke out? For a dollar I'll send you my serial number....

Heck for a dollar I'll send the smoker to you. ha, ha!

I only wished they sent me 2. If they did, I'd be glad to share as you can see.

A NEW AM05 came today. Mine must've started to fry. Thanks to all of you for the early info. I had been using it to keep the trailer above freeing overnight. If you all hadn't alerted us, I may have lost the AS...and maybe the house, as it is parked right up next to it.

That's great news! Dyson is a company I'll continue to do business in the future.
They treated you right.

I sent in model AM04 for the recall and just received what appears to be a brand new model AM05, sweet. I never received an email saying it was on the way, it just arrived. I did receive a confirmation email when I first shipped to them. Not sure why I got upgraded. Great company to do business with.

My read is that yours and mine had issues which took it out of the normal refurb/clean process. I was told this when I called them. They don't make AM04s anymore, so the upgrade to the AM05 was in order. I didn't receive the "returning email" either.
