Does 'streaming affect how you organize your stick house?

Due to a number of life changes I have been going through my stick house and making a number of minor changes and upgrades.

I'm finding that my experience of living in a trailer has changed how I think about space and organization. I've been getting rid of stuff that uses up a lot of space, and have more things that are used every day bolted to the wall instead of sliding around on the counter.

How has your Airstream lifestyle spilled over into your stick house?

Yes, all our A/S storage bins (neatly labeled) and wicker baskets (A/S pantry) are stored in plain sight for easier packing.

On a more serious side, we did some serious purging of DVDs, books, & other misc the other day. It got started because we wanted to load our favorite movies onto the Apple TV for airstreaming trips. Amazing how much stuff we buy, use once and never think about again...

It was interesting to get full time into an airstream, and see the material world spinning around you. Or seeing the masses of people who have a lot of accumulation and storage. -and their on going battle to maintain what they have. I think we collect more important clothing than any other things. One regular tool box that stays in the back of the truck, a microwave (instead of using the oven or stove)...and it goes on like this. And that is to not have a bunch of 'stuff' clogging up the house, because some of that material wants to seem to sneak in your door and you have to watch for it. Our food storage (canned) is the hardest because of the way the cabinets are built. -and it is hard to see down in there for labels etc. So I figure definitly that less is better, and to have just the essentials. Make the house look appealing and do our computing and tv from the couch in the front. Airstreams are something to look at and make beautiful, inside and out if possible. Just like the japanese gardens that are raked with sand.

I keep renting smaller and smaller houses. I keep purging more and more... it really is a beautiful feeling.
