DISH max distance from trailer?

What would be the maximum distance I could place my dish from the trailer--without sacrificing signal strength?

I have run out over 100 feet with Directv without a problem. I would assume you could go much more as some installations in a home may reach 200 ft.

I have one Direct TV installation at the house with just over 150' of cable. My biggest worry would be having the dish too far away and having it walk off in the middle of the night. People down the road from us have had a couple of dishes stolen from their front yard. Not sure what you do with a stolen dish...

Thank you for the replies, everyone. "Walking off" is a concern, for sure. Our place borders on a county park; but then would anyone want an old Dish 500 that supports only one TV?

Usually about 100 ft without amplification. of course this varies with the condition and quality of your cable.
