Destination please....

Hi all -

Well, it looks like the weather will hold and that we are going to be going to Carlbad Caverns, from ALBQ for New Years! Happy 2006!

Looking for interesting byway, must see's and other reasons to knock around in SE. NM. or Texas. Everything is on the table. No real constraints on time as the wife has time off from work. Will be going through Roswell and plan to stop and see the aliens in 'Area 51' ( is 'Area 63' near there?) on the way down.

El Paso, Alamagordo, Las Cruces, Lovington.... Ideas????

Lemme know since I will be putting the trip together this week.

The space museum in Alamogordo is pretty cool and of course the're White Sands Nat'l Mon.-------------Pieman

White Sands is nice and then the ride up the hill to Cloudcroft, but I don't know if that is a good idea in the winter. They get bunches of that snow stuff up there. I have only gone through Cloudcroft in the summer.
