Smile Dallas RV Show

We went to the Dallas RV show today and came home still glad we bought our A/S. Sure, the $1.2 million Provosts were nice but the payments were a little to steep. Maybe next year after our tax refund.....

No A/S at RV show

No, they did not have any. There are 2 dealers within 100 miles of Dallas that I know of but not any in the immediate area. One of them used to bring A/S to the show but have not done so in the last several years. The largest of the 2 did not have a display at all. Maybe they do not get any kind of money support from Airstream to help with the cost of attending the show. I guess they figure they don't need the exposure.. Go figure! When they were at the show several years ago is when we made up our minds that is what we wanted. You could just feel the difference when you went inside one.

airstream at show

I think one reason for not seeing Airstreams at shows is that they aren't really designed for thousands of people walking in and out. One entrance, narrow hallways etc. Not much room to pass beside someone. Also, I think that the wear and tear is a factor. Who wants to buy one as new that has had a few thousand people traipsing around in it, opening and closing (generally slamming) cabinets, plopping down on the furniture etc.? Not me!

Can Am here in Ontario has 5 units at the big RV show in Toronto.

Three were hooked to tow vehicles just to make it interesting.

They were smart and kept the factory plastic coverings on all the flooring. One would wonder about how much wear and tear could occur.

First, the "Prevost" is more than, just nice..lol
At that price, if it were me (and it's not!) I'd want the thing redone to suit my taste.~Which is, what I understand so many of the brand new Prevost end up having done before the new owner takes delivery.
It's sad to hear about the lack of A/S at the RV shows. I've given up going to the local shows as well..for that very reason.
ciao

Cool Provost

A few years ago, we met a couple with a Provost while camping in Pa. Thay had Alaska tags on it. After chatting on and off for a couple of days, I learned that they were acutally from Nevada. They had ordered the unit to be delivered in Alaska and had it decorated as they wanted. Don't know how long all of this took or how long they stayed in Alaska but he mentioned it saved him close to $40k in sales tax.

Prevost/Featherlight are manufactured right down the street from me. During last week's Speed Week at Daytona, you should of seen how many were trading-in/picking-up their Prevost for the season.

A few were shuttled in by helicopter. Must be nice!!

I also understand that the NASCAR driver's get a nice discount on them since there on TV next to their unit's most weeks.
