I'm a North Carolina State fan. (A university in Raleigh, NC). Grew up a State fan, always a State fan. Their mascot is the Wolfpack. State fans aren't as prevalent in this area as the Duke or UNC fans. Therefore, I call myself "lonewolf." 1977 is my birth year. There ya go: lonewolf1977. It's actually been my screen name for forums since I was in my early 20s.

I used to have the town we lived near plus my first name. This was hardly original, but good enough. We have that house on the market and bought another elsewhere, so I got it shortened to my first name (like Madonna). There was a Gene at the beginning of this Forum about 10 years ago, but he posted once and disappeared, so I asked for the name and got it.

There are some clever user names, but when faced with a question about what name to use, I can never come up with anything.

Soon, you can be "the user formerly known as Gene". Just add a weird symbol and you're in!

Just a tip:

If you use a special character in your user name, the results are unpredictable. In my case, the & causes me to not get notified when some one uses the thanks button on one of my posts. It would be a total non issues except that a few people use the thanks button as alternative PM button. I decided if they get no response, and they care, they'll try another method.

I joined when my wife and I were dreaming of 'streaming, so it was a unimaginative and quick choice to use my name.....

Smile Forum user names

Here in the Sonoran Desert country, I frequently find myself carefully "shepherding" snakes of all varieties, including Western Diamondback Rattlers, Tiger Rattlers, and Arizona Coral Snakes off the road on warm evenings.

And, fairly often, waiting while they cross the mountain bike trail my wife and and I enjoy.

One warm spring day I was sitting on the couch of the 1975 Airstream my husband and I were contemplating buying. The sun's rays were streaming in the open door and Vista View windows, reflecting off the yellow header and trim. She basically told me her name was Sunny and I fell in love. So we had to buy her!

Simply most of my last name. When I rode Harleys, I was Lonesome Dave till I met Layne, then I became Lucky Dave. Not sure why I chose this. Maybe I'll change it!

Very unimaginative.
Very spur of the moment.
It is simply my name.
I set up an account quickly as I watched my trailer flood...
I needed advice/wisdom/knowledge/correction from the more knowledgeable members of 'forums...

What m.hony said, except for the flood. I was having bad issues with the 14" tires on my 1997 Safari. After 6 new tires ( yes, GYM) and an axel replacement during the first two years from its birth, I finally solved the problem by going to 15 " wheels and some kind of commercial truck tire. Jim

Airboo is the name I wanted to name our Airstream. I think she is becoming affectionately known as the "Streamer". We don't go camping anymore, it is "Streamin" or Glamping.

As an long time Motorsport enthusiast, ex BMW club racer and active BMWCCA driving instructor / coach, my handle is an acronym of sorts.

T = Turn
I = In
A = Apex
T = Track
O = Out

Those who are Motorsport nuts or have driven/ridden or raced on a road race course know.

For the uninitiated, other than braking, those are the three
fundamental points of an arc known as turn.

I used to be "3arenotenough", but had to change it when I got 4. I like aircraft and the Airstream is close to the shape of a Zeppelin, except I had to make the Zeppelin out of aluminum.

Zeppelin---ium

so it's not anything to do with Led Zeppelin, although we are definitely contemporaries.

Auretrvr=Golden Retriever

Mary was so happy to have our first pet dog that she made Auretrvr our user name when we got our '83 310, "Ernestine."

("Ernestine" is a tip of the hat to the previous owner named "Ernest.")

She did all our posts when the issues were curtains and flooring and such, and now I do the most postings since the issues are now usually mechanical.

Featherbedder= Because Railroad Conductor 40 yrs. Survived the push by Railroads and our Fed. Gov. to take away our rights which they did in 1969 by firing all firemen under 10 yrs. service, [these were our trainee future engineers]. They all called us featherbedders. It is still a sore spot when I had to go to work for $3.68 per day. So this is my user name. PS. We did not get back pay or a raise for this injustice. Bill

Follow up it was 1971 that this took place not 1969. We did not have no strike clause in contract, Fed. Judge rode North Western into chgo. stated i will have ride, US Pres. stated I will not allow Unions to strike, Things downhill to this day.
