Craigslist Scam Suspected: 2007 AS Safari Special Edition for $5900
I'm thinking this has got to be a classic Craigslist scam: In New Market, Alabama, a woman calling herself "Edith Graham" offers a pristine 2007 Safari SE FB Twin Beds for $5900.
When I wrote to confirm the price, here's the story: "...If you decide to buy it, you'll receive all the paperwork, books, owner's manuals, original purchase order/receipt and the clear title. I have a low price ( $ 5,900 including delivery to your home address ) because I want to sell the trailer very quickly. My husband died 2 months ago and I along with my daughter decided to sell the house and we moved to my sister in New York. Unfortunately I can't conclude this transaction personally because my work involves a lot of travelling but I left everything prepared for the sale. If you are really interested in purchasing the trailer please contact me asap.
Regards,
Edith
So, our friend "Edith" wants Schmucatelli (that'd be me) to quickly send the bereaved widow $5900 so she can move from the beauty of North Alabama to New York. And she's hoping I won't mind taking advantage of a poor widow by paying her way, way under market value. Well, none of that's going to happen.
Wow...Sounds like a classic con to me. What's to be done? Your experience and suggestions are welcomed!
