Courtesy Parking needed in WI
A friend who owns a new International CCD 28 slide-out is looking for courtesy parking somewhere near Madison WI. He's asked me to see if any fellow Airstreamers would be willing to allow him to park the trailer for 2-4 days while he and his wife go on sea kayaking trips.
I can vouch for this fellow -- he's a frequently published travel writer, photographer, and generally nice guy who has been an Airstreamer for many years. PM me if you can help. Thanks!

Courtesy Parking Check box
I wish that in our profile we could check a box if we have it, and then there be a way to search the forums for CPing. Can this be done? It'd be really cool.

Madison camping
Rich,
Close to Madison is the Capital Springs State Park. Some of the sites have electric. You can go here for reservations and availability.

There are two posts in this thread that explain how to search courtesy parking by state.

Good idea. I'll ask.
Ditto on the Capital Springs park. Developed with state assistance, it's administered by Dane County parks where it is actually called Lake Farm Park. They won't give reservations within 14 days of arrival but it generally is easy to drive in without one, especially if arriving on a weekday. We're staying there Fri & Sat night this weekend without a reservation. A local is going to go in the morning and get our site. Campground hosts tend to be fulltiming locals who've returned north for the summer and are pretty good about staying at the park. There aren't a lot of mature trees. This makes for excellent sightlines and supervision. I've never experienced any funny business.
Sea kayaking .... Apostle Islands?

I was looking at this thread and happened to notice the original post requesting courtesy parking was 3 years ago. Are they still looking after 3 years?

Steve, keep a sharp eye out like this and you're likely to end up sheriff of Rock Ridge. Now wouldn't that beat all!
