I live on the Gulf coast between Galveston and Houston. Temps are forecast
to be in low to mid 20's. I keep my trailer stored indoors, was thinking of setting furnace to 40 to avoid freezing issues winterizing is usually not needed here. Any thoughts appreciated!!
Yup, supposed to be abnormally cold down south. I've had 4 gallons of RV antifreeze for 12 years and never used a drop until today. For the first time ever I just winterized all 3 of my campers. We might be below freezing for up to 48 hours.
A small electric cube heater will keep the inside of my 26's at 15-18 degrees above the outdoor temp, that's just too close with it dropping into the mid teens.
Running the furnace is ok, but inside an enclosed space is a concern.
I'm going to run the furnace in our 34' since it's so long and the tanks (and some fresh pipes) are inside the bellypan. I can run a cube heater and leave the furnace set at 50.
This cold really messed up our New Years camping trip!
