Pandion Ridge in Orange Beach is very nice but fills up pretty quickly, and like many of the others in the area during this time of year, not cheap.

Oh, please don’t tell people that. It’s hard enough to get in now. 😂🤣

Ho Hum

Ho Hum RV park in Carrabelle, Fl is right on the beach. Quaint little fishing village with a great history. Former home to Camp Gordon Johnson amphibious landing practice site for D Day invasion.

I want to go to ST.Geroge Island campground...

It was shut down due to damage from a hurricane...Is it open again?

Liking somewhere is all well and good but trying to get a spot has become almost impossible in my experience. There are too many campers on the road and just not enough spots available in the south. The last two years have become a joke to get down near the beach. We do get the odd spot when someone dies or is ill though.
When the next recession hits, as it certainly will there will be thousands of people dumping these things and some sanity will return. If not that some high gas prices will keep most at home.
You may not like this comment but I have a bunch of friends who are also sick of the limited vacancies. I met one character who said it took him seven months after buying a unit to get a spot and like me it was due to a cancellation. A few years back it was quite reasonable but now it’s become a joke.

This time of year expect Florida beach campgrounds to be booked! Speaking from experience before we moved to Florida. You might find a few days now, but weeks start to open up in April and May. Good luck!

Turtle Beach Campgrounds in Sarasota. Right on the beach. Full hookups. Belongs to Sarasota City Parks.

St George Island State Park is open. The road and utilities were badly damaged, but have been completely repaired. Stayed there in November for the Apalachicola Seafood Festival. The campground and restrooms were undamaged. It's a great place, but hard to get a reservation.

Pandian Ridge is really nice but expensive.
Gulf State Park is nice as well.
Both of these are close to the beach and everything in Gulf Shores.
Bay Breeze is nice if you want something smaller away from the people. It’s on the bay side of Fort Morgan. Not much to do but really quite.

A great article by Florida Rambler just came in. This is an excellent newsletter to subscribe to if you plan on touring around Florida. I've taken her advice on paddling, and always found it to be spot on.
