Hello, has anyone stayed at the Airstream only Mystic Cove Campground in M David, Florida? If so, how was it?

We are heading that direction from St. Augustine next week on our way back to TX so you got my attention...we are staying at Top Sail and Destine while in the area...Seems Mystic Cove is not on the beach, so not for us this trip. Here is a review I found. Let us know your experience if you go there...this time of year, we want to be near the beach...

They won’t let us in…. We aren’t old enough. They said come back when you’re 55, to which I responded “that’s 20 years from now…”

Been there several times. Take ant poison you Will need it since the campground is on the Escambia river it is a nice laid-back campground not close to much I think it’s about 20 miles north of the interstate very quiet and peaceful cell service is good there is a cell tower less than a mile from the Campgroun.

That’s the first time I’ve ever heard they had an age limit sorry they wouldn’t let you in.

If you’re thinking Florida, it’s a huge state and you’ll need to narrow down your desires. We stay in central FL personally. Can get to the beach in a couple of hours but we aren’t paying out the nose for the camp spot.

February is high season for FL as well, expect to pay anywhere from $1,000 - $3,000 for the month, assuming you can find something. Snow birds from Canada start coming down in November which will complicate things further.

You’re right. I thought this was for the Airstream park in Melbourne. That one is the age restriction one

You may try Alabama or Mississippi the have some nice parks. Less than 700 a month. Concrete pads asphalt roads 50/30 amp sewer, water and bath facilities….. less than a mill from the gulf.

We see lots of "snow birds" all over TX during winter...average $350-$600 month with electric extra, typically...but again, you need to do the legwork on the phone now...folks coming down from Canada and Northern states are pretty good planners...and they reserve early. We passed several "snow birds" towing SOB trailers with Canadian plates and a "caravan" of 4 Class A's with big storage trailers yesterday coming down from Myrtle Beach to St. Augustine...

A month in Florida for winter

If your over 50 and have no pets Land Yacht Harbor in Melbourne, Florida is an ideal place to winter in Florida. 300 spots and all have an 8 x 10 metal shed with water and electric in them. All concrete parking for your Airstream and tow vehicle. This is our 4th winter at LYH. We have an annual lease but they do have daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal rates. They rates are dirt cheap IMHO.

Any further north than Melbourne your going to experience some pretty cold temps. If your going to spend $$$ to winter in Florida try to get as far south as possible. We lived in Naples, Florida for many, many years and know what true south Florida weather is in winter. We would not want to winter any further north than Melbourne. Good luck with your search. Give LYH a call and talk to Beverly if your interested.

Thats not too bad pricing for this place Land Harbor...lists for $700/month plus $5/day for 50Amp....we are up in North Beach, above Saint Augustine...pricy, but across the street is a very nice beach and restaurant...for 3 nights, it's pretty nice....for a month, likely more money!

We pay $1,750.00 For an annual lease at LYH after paying a one time fee of $1,500.00. Yes, you read that correctly. Just $1,750.00 per year! We can leave our AS there all year if we want to. We can stay up to six months. This is our 4th year at LYH for the winter. Best kept secret in Florida. This is an over 50 and no pets park. After spending a couple of weeks in October at an RV "Resort" in Naples, Fl. that allows dogs and kids we really, really like the over 50 and no pets policy. Several RV'ers had multiple dogs with them. 5 in one RV and another RV with 3 dogs and a cat.

I think you have this confused with Land Yacht Harbor in Melbourne FL. Mystic Springs has no restrictions. Laid back, rustic campground in the middle of North Florida woods. Be sure to call before you got to be sure someone is there to let you in.

Campgrounds in Florida can get pretty full for the winter season. You may need to get on the cancellation list at many places.

Florida in February

Go to the Good Sams campground Florida directory -

https://www.goodsam.com/campgrounds-...ame=&goodsam=0

- start calling ASAP. November is a little late to try and book a full month in February, but you may find cancelations here and there. I really like the FL Keys in February.

Southern Georgia and Northern Florida both have great state campgrounds that typically have openings all winter, but may have to move to a new site every few days, bouncing between states.

I was worried that Travelers Rest & Resort might be under used this year because so many members are Canadian. However, since vaccinated Canadians can now travel to the US, the pent up demand from last year's early departure is sure to have most if not all campgrounds awash with our northern neighbors. If you don't require spots within walking distance of the ocean or Disney World you should be able to find spots, but you will almost certainly have to move around. There are scads of over 55 campgrounds, and sadly the pandemic did take some seniors before the vaccines became available. Others decided that they Covid was a sign, and decided it was time to "age out" of traveling and camping, so if you are 55+ you might find good.deals on membership sites at a senior campground.

Mystic Springs

Stayed there a couple
Of years ago. Remote. Ants for sure when we were there. Call if you want to stay. A nice Airstreamer came and collected our fee and brought us ant detergent.
Reasonably close to Pensacola. We went to see the Blue Angels.
