Save $ + protect your investment

Pardon me if I'm selecting a seemingly obvious question. Given the potential for money saving upgrades & the increasing frequency of severe weather issues, particularly in your area recently, I think I'd be looking at an option which could answer both these problems.

I've been looking @ building a garage with playroom above & found this company: eco-panels.com. Visualize a home/garage up & ready to finish in 7-10 days + ALL your corners will be SQUARE. The upgrade will pay for itself in 3-5 years.

They're in Mocksville, NC & have homes which survived the mega-hurricane IRMA https://www.eco-panels.com/blog/

Call Mr. Leahy, it will be well worth your time. Not related, don't own part of the company, just think they've been supplying the product of the future.

I spoke with the septic engineer and she said 40 to 50 gallons is not a problem for a tank large enough for a 4 bed 5 bathroom house for 5 people (let alone 2 of us) So onward with a dump station in the garage.

Just Getting Under Way

After lots of deliberation and changes we have finally settled on our plans and getting started on our new house with a storage garage for our AS.
It has plenty of room compared to our current storage garage, plus it will have sewer, water and a 50 amp hook up.
We are very excited to see the progress.

Getting There

It's been almost 11 months now and we are getting very close to being done.
We moved in about 6 weeks ago now and only have 2 items left on our punch list. Along with plants for our landscaping. That will happen in the spring, so they don't all die if it gets too cold again like last winter.
Some of my ideas happened and others did not but all in all we have what we wanted for our attached AS garage. We put the septic cleanout just outside the door instead of inside (odor control) and although we have filtered water available, I didn't get my hot water out there. (my fault for not communicating with our plumber enough) but the rest is just what we wanted. Plus the location is very peaceful. We might stick around the house more

Thanks for updating, looks great. I also like the way the land slopes away from the house apparently in all directions. Time to plant some trees!

That looks very aesthetically pleasing. Not always an attractive outcome attaching an RV garage to the house. Lovely and she is at home.

It looks great! Nothing like having the RV both at home and protected from the weather. My cleanout is outside the garage too but I installed a small cat door right where the dump valve is which makes tank work a breeze and no need to open the big door in bad weather or let mosquitoes in! (I made up an extension to get me outside with pipe first)

Thank you! The slope away from the house is peace of mind and keeps water out of the basement. The trees will come in the spring with the rest of the landscaping plants. Plus we have 2 acres of trees in the back yard.

Thank you! The 2 car garage has 9' doors to balance out the height of the 12' door. We stored our AS inside at a rental place before but having it home is fantastic.

Thank you Brian! The cleanout door is a great idea.
