Bubble to Bambi garage height problem
I have a '55 Bubble that my wife is no longer allowing me to keep. I built a garage for it with an opening of 9' 1" which was good for the Bubble. The wife wants a '04 or newer Bambi. The new Bambi have a overall height of 9' 5".
Here are my questions for those in the know.
Can the AC be replaced with a much lower profile AC.
Can the AC be removed and would that cut the height enough.
or are there any other height lowing ideas.
The garage cannot be altered at all.

If that is free standing single garage consider jacking it up and adding a course of block. The door rails can be extended and a sheet metal panel added to the top panel.
Other option and a maybe less expensive, cost of the newer trailer. Keep Bubble and get another wife.

low profile
A new Carrier is the lowest height at 7 inches. PM me if you need a GREAT home for the Bubble. I'd love a trip to Ontario this time of the year.

Garage is built in.
replacing wife is the most expensive option.
My now divorced brother went from living in 3500 square foot house with an awesome wine cellar to living in a basement apartment, although he does have a big screen tv.
anyone know the height of a modern Bambi with no AC?

One option is to roll the Bambi in on rims without tires - that will give you about 5 inches to work with in height. Put down son 3/8 plywood to protect the floor
Removing the AC on a Bambi is going to get you about 9 inches in height savings with the low profile AC unit they come with. That's the AC only, there are vent stacks, fan covers, and TV antenna that are about 4-6 inches above the roof that cannot be removed that easily.
Keep the wife, she will have to co-sign on the loan for a new garage and her income can pay for it.

You could leave the AC off, and put in a window unit that ducts in from underneath the floor... or let the air out of the tires to put it in, and then air up when you get in / out of the garage.
Go look at an AS dealer and see what sticks up.. and how far. Is your width (of the trailer!!) ok too?

Thanks airstreamers, the idea with the tireless rims is a winner, it should work perfectly and is cheap and easy.
anyone want to trade a Bambi CCD 16' for a '55 Bubble + cash?

You might also consider cutting tire troughs in the concrete.

What do you mean "she won't let you have it"? Do you tell her what shoes she's allowed to have? If you both agree that it needs to go & to be replaced by something newer, than that's different. But to say you're no longer allowed to have it??? Hmmm...
