Bike Rack

Not sure where to post this one but- I have been looking at bike racks for the receiver hitch (2") on my Motorhome. There are so many its mind boggling. I will carry 4 bikes at times and those racks are available as well. What experiences has anyone had with these things? I like the cargo tray with the 3 bike insert, thinking I can squeeze the 20" kids bike on there also. I also have seen a Rhodegear 4 bike rack on ebay at a good price, the seller has many to sell (last yrs model) although I would need an extension to get past the spare tire, which he doesn't sell...walmart or Sam's club does. I am open to suggestions. I don't want a wobbly piece of junk back there.

I have a rack made by thule. It fits into the 2" receiver. It has room for 4 bikes, though it is a little tight. I wrap key areas of the bikes with foam rubber for protection.

I have used the rack with the motor home. We were on a rough road ringing a lake on the final leg of that trip. With the overhang on the motor home the bikes were really moving around. On the way back, I torqued the bolt through the receiver down so it was tight. I also roped the bikes and the tip of the rack down to the bumper. That made a great improvement.

Thanks, the number and type of racks out there is amazing. I will have to put on an extension to get past the spare, but I think I will get the one I saw and try it out.

Got my bike rack yesterday- bought it on ebay. Same item at Sam's club was 190. I paid 95 plus 25 shipping. Its a new in box Hitchmate "glide away"- very heavy duty, well constructed piece. Powder coated, and brass fittings. Hold 4 bikes, and will swing out when unlatched to allow access to the rear for cargo (on an suv) or my spare on the Airstream. I will have to get the extension tube to get it out further past the spare...29 more dollars at Sam's Club, unless I can find a better deal somewhere.
