big wind

wow! just had five days of 100 to120km winds here in france . The big problem was I keep my airstreams for the winter in a 38mt long polyurethane tunnel with straw bales to make a wall at each end, but that old wind had my wall down and the wind just came right in, but the other end was still up! so it filled up ! and so I had to act fast with my wife and son ! lucky they were at home ! we put it back again :then had three more days of very strong wind not much sleep as I had to keep my eyes on it all all that baning and plastic flaping around for 3 days was enough.
I should be used to it, I grew up in a circus. But we never had our caravans in the tent.
It 's all gone calm now, just had to tell somebody.
Here is a picture of all my Airstreams in the tunnel.
As for Airstream I don't want to know anything about AIR for a while ......
Anybody got any windy stories ?
and I don't mean the ones after chili con carne
That's all for now.

North wind

Hi Perry, my 700 km neighbour;

Come in the North of FRANCE, the North wind is not the same as yours, in the south...
The sun is here , and the North wind only get away the dust on my A/S ...
I hope you've not gotten too much damages ;

Best regards

Bruno.

Twice now in the past year we have gone to Destin , Florida and gotten socked by really big storms. The first time last year we rode it out, and it rained and ounded us with 40mph winds all day. This past Christmas break we pulled in and the next day had tornados spotted in the area. The crew from the campground made us abandon ship, and we left to spend the day in a Condo with frineds, 50 miles away.
The high winds and rain and hail did no damage tho0ugh, and we returned to find all was well. Thankfully!
The gal at the campground desk said "this doesn't happen very often here, the last time was last Spring" sure- the two times I go there they have the worst weather you can imagine.

30s before the storm !!!!

Hi Perry;
You want a storm story, here is one...

When we went to USA to fetch our famous A/S, in november 2002, from North Carolina to Jacksonville, fla, we' ve decided to stop before at Savannah, fla, in an KOA campground.

There weather was very warm and , after parking the silver bullet, we 've hurry to go in the swimming pool, during all the afternoon.

So clouds became very black ( see the picture ) and we decide to stay in the water... 30 secondes later , the wind blow so hard that all our clothes gone with it and the rain and thunder storm was soo high level that it was urgent to protect us in the cabin behind us, near the coca cola machine... but no money !!!

Bye

OK, guys, is it what you call ice ?

Notice the rear side, on the body, that's not condensation.
This morning, it looked like we were having breakfast in a shower stall. Pling...pling ....of ice on the roof, looking trough frosted glass. Except: it is not frosted glass. [glass-glace-ice... you have to be French to get this one]

Did I mentioned that we live in there?

You thing you have it bad ??? I was hopping to cheer you up.

BIG UFO

Hi John !

As requested, a big photo.

I wonder if anyone knows what it is before I tell you.

I did once put a lots of empty vodka bottles in it and a collection tin outside for the new russian space program

As for you Bruno, you're mad, just as well for the coke machine !

As for the weather, no big winds, little rain, not to cold.
So maybe this big winds thread will turn into spring flowers !

By for now

Well since I have been to http://www.thehazzards.com/ (notice the lack of "/air"at the end) I know that you are invloved with a circus. My guess is it's part of a "spin and puke" ride simular to what we call the "run away tea cup" here in the states
