The only issue with the individual ones is that the window has to be open all the way in order to make them effective & look right. If it's a cool day or you have A/C and you don't want the windows open, the awnings either need to come off or lay flat against the trailer. No biggie...just something to think about.

We camped at Molas Lake many years ago. It is an awesome place with absolutely breathtaking views. My son and I climbed a mountain near this spot...all the way up to 14,000 feet! Sure wouldn't be able to do that now.

Best Photo - loaded meaning.....

I would have to say the best photo - would be the day we hooked up to each of our beauties.

Our First - the 69 Globe Trotter aka MOONBEAM "Love at First Sight" literally - we bought her through the internet (not e-bay) And on that gloomy rainy day we first set eyes on her - February 14 2004

Our second The 61 Overlander aka SS Lighthouse - from Bradford Vermont - funny recently I googled 61 Overlander and there are still ads up for her - but she is now safely home waiting on her retrofit in the Spring of 06.

However the best one of "Ella" was not the day we hooked up but the day we first saw her. She looked so sad - I had a feeling she was too far gone for a repair - but not too far gone to build a hybrid with her parts and still leave a good frame for a new type of trailer (boat, car hauler or whatever) - Buying from a wrecker at the best of times can be contraversial - In this case we were told our bid had won - we were set to bring her home that week After 2 months we said forget it - but it was not until 8 months later that we got the call we could have her if we still wanted her. (They were trying to hold out to get a higher price - in the meantime - the winter blew the Water Heater Tank - fixable but unecessary)

Nevertheless these thre pics will alway be in our photo album. There are a few others of the "Almost boughts - a 63 Overlander from Oklahoma - a 63 Overlander from R.T. whom Overlander 63 (Terry) is thoroughly enjoying as you can see from his thread - A new Challenge. Even came close to taking a trip out to California to pick up a 24' Argosy MotorHome from a really nice gentleman - wish I could have pulled it off he was so helpful!

But this is it Our starter and our future - It will be tough to let the little Globe Trotter go when we finally finish the Overlander.

I will post my "favorite" best photos of our MoonBeam next.

How do you pick the best photo? when you have taken 100's of them.

So how about most memorable "firsts"

1. First Rally ever - our nerves put to the test
2. First Christmas Eve - how many times can you saw ahhhh
3. First Christmas Day - snow load put to the test
4. First Family Vacation - patience put to the test
5. First Day with New Running Gear - Axis Products put to the test
and finally
6. First Rally with everything Working - new awning, new running gear, all water works with no leaks and the AC runs nice and cold - all lights work - and go figure at the Rally we ran out of plugs so we did our First Boon Dock weekend - peice of cake.......

Shari it is a good thing that we do not have our baby all nice and shinny - cause I know I would have a trillion more photos

oh I forgot one...

First time on the weigh scale - Our math put to the test. Found out that we could not carry ANYTHING in the car - what we had all had to go in the trailer - the problem where would we put the extra 150 pounds of puppies...and all the snacks we eat on the road......We were maxed out just for a weekend - so longer trips we had to go bigger - but not overkill - hence the 99 Yukon as our substitute tow vehicle.

Wish we had bought the trailer before the Tow Vehicle - but Airstreams were not even a shinny spot in our eyes yet...

My 1968 "International" Travelall feels right at home pulling my 1966 Overlander "International" around the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

Although this isn't even my Airstream any longer, ( sold it earlier this year to make room for a 1963 Overlander) this is still one of my favorite Airstream photos. The first one was taken early one glorious morning on the beach in Baja California, Mexico. First light makes great photos, even with a digital camera.
The second one is the same trailer, same spot, taken 6 month later at sunset.
